You made it...good for you!
Read on...here are some more questions. Look for the next
instruction as you read...
Q: Where is the Institute of MnemeTherapy? How long does it take
to go through the program?
A: Just like the AWB Association, IMT is virtual. It's the education arm of
AWBA. The definition of Institute is "an association organized to promote
art or science or education." Nothing there about brick and mortar.
Membership in the Association is a requirement of becoming a
MnemeTherapist and opening an AWB Chapter. Membership provides
you with not only training, but certification, participation in a service area
registry and continued education. "Virtual" just means that the curriculum
is on-line and you will take the course at your own pace from the comfort
of your home. The curriculum includes reading, e-trips, instructional
videos and self administered tests monitored by a Mentor.
Since we have no paid staff, we use the Apprentice/ Mentor program. You
will be apprenticed to an MMT. (Master MnemeTherapist) That means
your mentor will guide you through the on-line curriculum and grade your
tests. To move to the next question, scroll down the page to watch the
video, then scroll down to the next question. Watching the video is not
required to moving on if you can't make it work or don't want to download
anything to make it work.
How long it takes is up to you. We have had students make it through
in 2 months and some take up to a year. (usually because of finances)
When you've successfully completed the curriculum, you will have the
choice of where you take your on-site final: in your mentor's area or
yours. When you graduate, you will receive a license to open an AWB
Chapter and be a Certified MnemeTherapist.

This short video is a wonderful
example of improvement in receptive
aphasia, the ability to understand the
spoken word; expressive aphasia,
the ability to use words correctly and
agnosia, being able to interpret the
senses, in this case, sight.
Listen to Irving's confused sentences
while painting and then how clearly he
spoke after the session. We were
excited that his wife was visiting and we
could document her enthusiastic
assessment of the session.
Documented Testimony

Q: I was looking for a job! Now I have to pay to be trained?
What gives?
A: Our mission is to find the right type of artists, train and certify
them as MnemeTherapists. Since you responded to the ad (or
stumbled upon us) and you've made it this far, you might what we're
looking for. Depending on where you live, you can either a) work for
an existing chapter ( a JOB) or b) open your own Chapter. The
Association membership fee is $3,000, or if you work for an
established chapter, the Associate fee, which also includes training
and Certification is $500.00
Q: But I'm unemployed and don't have any money.
A: Most of our students are in the same boat. Only you can decide if
you want to invest in your future and make a difference in the lives
of others. We encourage you to continue to look for work as you go
through the program, but we accept payments, which we do "in-
house", with no credit check or interest charges, (unless you don't
make the minimum payment of $50.00 by the end of the month, then
there's a charge of $15.00.)
We accept credit/debit cards and as mentioned, have several fund
raising options. For those making payments, you will receive the
password to the second part of the curriculum that teaches the
process when your payments are complete. Keep reading and it will
lead you to the application.
Here are the two ways that you can earn your tuition. You can get
started with a deposit as low as $50.00 and then work your way
through the curriculum:
- Recruiting: If you post ads on the Internet and the recruit is
accepted and starts the program, you'll earn a $500 credit on
your Membership fee. (explained further on the next page)
- Ebay Giving Works Program: You can sell your paintings or
other items on Ebay and donate the proceeds or a
percentage of the proceeds to AWBA. You also get a tax
credit for the donation. 100% of the donation goes toward
your Membership fee.

"Art Without Boundaries truly IS a boundless experience in the arts that anyone, young or old, can enjoy and benefit from if they are “just willing to try”! My experience with AWBA has been pure joy! Successes I’ve enjoyed in the my personal and professional art experience “pale in comparison” at seeing firsthand the pleasure people get from seeing their own painting unfold before their eyes and physical and mental limitations often improve! Serving others with your talents is the ultimate joy in life!" Kathryn Kelly SE FL Chapter (pictured above with a client)
