"I am very impressed with Tania. She is athletic and loves the outdoors, yet she has a very soft and gentle side that she
uses skillfully with children and elders. She picked everything up very quickly and was able to keep "present" even though
the process is very multi-layered.  We had several "firsts" during her training with a brain trauma patient in a hospital to
children with learning disabilities who are not considered to be on the autistic spectrum. I am pleased that Tania is a
pioneer in our consortium and am glad to call her friend."

"This is the most amazing thing I've ever seen in my life."

Tania Henderson, Boulder, CO

Tania Henderson grew up an artist and a soccer player in the
Boston area.  She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in illustration
from The Rhode Island School of Design and headed west.
Boulder, Colorado was the place she was drawn to begin her
career as a fine artist.   During those first 5 years her work focused
primarily on highly realistic portraiture. By the mid nineties realism
was no longer feeding her growth and she stopped painting for a
year.  Upon her return to the canvas she found herself ignited by
abstract expressionism relying on color and design to describe the
senses. Now, the mother of two amazing children, she finds her
work gravitating back to her representational roots, focusing on the
up close study of natural objects merging her styles of painting into
contemporary realism.

She enjoys biking, biking, music,  snowshoeing,
trail-running,meditation and yoga in and around Colorado's
beautiful wide open spaces. Art instruction and coaching soccer
have been fulfilling activities as well, combining a love of children
with her gifts.  Not known to all, she has a passion for
understanding life that motivates continued study and practice in
spiritual contemplation with a special focus on the ecstatic poets.
Her family is passionately playful with each other and are very good
tree climbing wrestlers. They appreciate their environment and love
the time they are afforded to be out in nature together.

As a child creating art provided her a world she could express
herself unabashedly, keeping her sane in an, all too often, insane
childhood. While in college, she studied psychology as well as art
to further understand her beginnings. So, naturally art therapy has
been hovering as a possibility for some time. Now, embarking on
Mneme Therapy she feels her worlds merging yet again.  And is
excited to have her work give back in a whole new way.
At the end of her CERT week, Tania treated her trainer, Noell, to a ride up into the mountains. The
day was beautiful and sunny with breath-taking views and foliage.
