Noell:
My mother was a self-taught artist who allowed me to mess
around with her paints as early as I can remember. I had an
insatiable desire to paint and would paint on anything I could
find: rocks, slate, barn siding, driftwood, and plasterboard. I
painted my Dad's hunting dog (below) when I was 10 or 11 on
an old piece of barn siding.

So you can image my dismay when my mother told me that I
couldn't make a living as a painter and I had to train to get a
"Real Job."  Dutifully I went to college and trained to for a "real"
teaching job, which I did for 15 years.

Forty years later, that experience fueled my passion to design a
dream job for artists and to make sure that no budding artist will
be told by her parents  that she can't make a living as a painter.

My praise goes out to those men and women of vision who have
and will step out of the ordinary to serve in a higher way. Your
rewards will be paid in a different currency: a smile from
someone who has not smiled, a word from the wordless or a
thank you from the heart. There can be no higher reward than
touching another's life and leaving it changed. Thank you for
hearing our heart, answering the call and making my dreams
come true.

I  began painting with Alzheimer's patients in 2000, when I was
Executive Director of an Alzheimer's Association Chapter. When the
chapter closed and the program dropped, I started doing it as a private
practice in 2004. In 2005 I trademarked the name and incorporated The
Art Without Boundaries Foundation. Today I continue to service clients
in South Florida in addition to traveling to certify new apprentices.

Ty:
I've been the behind-the-scenes support for Noell as she persisted throughout the years getting AWB off the
ground. I had a grandmother with Alzheimer's disease and have worked with seniors throughout my career.

As AWB grew, I saw a need that I could fill as trainer and the opportunity of growing our local chapter. There is great
potential in expanding a chapter by hiring employees, so we want to front that effort to provide best-practice
guidelines for our Chapter Owners. I'm proud to team up with Noell in making this opportunity available to more
people and taking our chapter to the next level.
