Upstate South Carolina Chapter
|
After completing the online curriculum and requirements, Apprentice-candidates must prove they have mastered the process
of MnemeTherapy before a MMT (Master MnemeTherapist). To do so, they set up 20 hours of on-site training with "Hosts" in a
variety of locations such as adult day care, assisted living, long term care, rehabilitation centers and autistic schools. The
"Training Hosts" are encouraged to receive MT services on a regular basis, giving the new apprentice a "jump start" on
establishing a successful chapter. Certification week also teaches the apprentice how to approach the decision makers to
obtain clients. Upon completing 3 months in a successful chapter, a CMT may apply to become an MMT.

Kelly is a warm, giving, loving person and I am proud to not only be her mentor, but her friend. She was divinely designed to be a MnemeTherapist and exhibited an ease with the clients and staff alike. We laughed ourselves silly during training week and I know she will take that sense of humor into the sessions, making it a richer experience for kids and elders. I look for great things from this chapter and am grateful that God sent her our way. Noell Hammer

Kelly was born in Houston, Texas. She received a
BA in Art, from Anderson College in Anderson,
South Carolina. Her family and friends are a very
important part of her life. She thanks them for all
of their love and support. She is caregiver by
nature and has always had a love for children.
This passion has led her down the path of
fostering children and advocating for their safety.
“It is important to give children a voice by speaking
for them.” She has also worked in the public
school system with special needs children and
trained intensively with the autism program.
She has always been an artist and always had the
support of family…even at a very young age. “I do
not remember a time in my life that I was not
completely immersed in creating something. My
mind and soul find ample nourishment in the
creative process.”
Art Without Boundaries is such an incredible
program. MnemeTherapy is just what Kelly has
been searching for…it has combined both of her
passions….art and helping people.
