After completing the online curriculum and requirements, Apprentice-candidates must prove they have mastered the process
of MnemeTherapy before a MMT (Master MnemeTherapist). To do so, they set up 20 hours of on-site training with "Hosts" in a
variety of locations such as adult day care, assisted living, long term care, rehabilitation centers and autistic schools. The
"Training Hosts" are encouraged to receive MT services on a regular basis, giving the new apprentice a "jump start" on
establishing a successful chapter. Certification week also teaches the apprentice how to approach the decision makers to
obtain clients. The apprenticeship lasts 6 months, with MMT acting as consultant. Upon completing 3 months in a successful
chapter, a CMT may apply to become an MMT.

Kate Toohey -Langhorne, PA

I am an artist who enjoys creating dreamscape paintings.   I
lived in Cortona, Italy in 2005 teaching and studying art and feel
this experience has greatly inspired my current work.

I received a BFA in Art education from the University of Georgia in
2006 and am currently teaching Preschool with the Pre-k Counts
program through Bristol Township, Pa.   I was born and raised
in Bucks County, Pennsylvania as the second oldest of four
children.  My older brother has cerebral palsy, severe mental
retardation and is deaf.

Growing up with a compassion for people with special needs
and believing in healing through expression, I am very pleased
to say that I am a MnemeTherapist.

Seeing the sights of Philly...

During Certification Week, apprentices take some time to show me around their hometown.  Katie and I took a driving tour
of Philadelphia and I was totally amazed by the huge world-class murals all over the city. We topped it off with a must-do
lunch of Philly Cheese Steak at Geno's.

Graduation Day!

Katie's family and friends celebrated her achievement with Chinese food and an ice cream cake.
